CHAMPIONSHIP 18

This is THE course to play in South Florida

Our championship 18-hole golf course is a timeless masterpiece designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. in 1954. Restored by son, Rees Jones in 2020, the famed golf course architect known as the "Open Doctor," the course bears classic runway style tee boxes, a signature of his father, with undulating greens that are precisely bunkered. Touted as an "easy bogey, but a hard par" the course offers an array of course lengths and difficulties so Members of all ages and skill levels can enjoy playing. The course has aptly been described as the "crown jewel" of Fort Lauderdale.

REES 9

Short on time? Play the 9!

Coral Ridge has a comfortable nine hole, Par-3 course designed by Rees Jones in 2015. Being completely different than our championship course, Members enjoy the yardage variety with holes ranging from 70 yards to over 200 yards, as well as the undulated and multi-tier greens. Perfect for the golfer pressed for time, families and juniors.

PRACTICE FACILITY

Located in the center of our Championship course, steps away from the Clubhouse and Golf Shop, is our newly contoured and expanded 12-hole putting green, chipping green area and practice facility that includes an east and west practice tee.  Members can practice hitting full shots on the east tee onto eight target greens with varying yardages, work on their fairway bunker shots, or hone their short game around the chipping green and practice bunker. The west practice tee also allows Members to practice full shots and features a practice putting green.

Jones Inspired, Jones Restored

"It'll have no weaknesses, they'll all be great holes" ~ Robert Trent Jones, 1954

Not only did famed golf course architect Robert Trent Jones design the Coral Ridge Country Club course in 1954, it also became his own home course as he purchased it years later. He and his wife Ione were the centerpiece of the Club managing and overseeing the development of a vision for his own world class course.

After developing what had been considered a "ghost course" into his "dream course," son, Rees Jones, returned more than a half century later to enhance and restore the masterful green contours, runway tee boxes and approach shot challenges while improving the irrigation and drainage.

The gem of Fort Lauderdale sparkles now more than ever.

Women's Amateur Golf at its Best

Coral Ridge is excited and proud to continue its rich tradition of serving as host to the Jones/Doherty Championships.

The Doherty is one of the country's longest running and most storied tournaments for up-and-coming female golfers. After all, it means a lot to win an event whose champions include greats such as Patty Berg, JoAnne Carner, Babe Zaharias and Marlene Stewart Streit, as well as pros such as Natalie Gulbis, Michelle McGann, Vicki Goetze, Charley Hull and Lexi Thompson.

This match play event pays tribute to the late Helen Doherty and Ione D. Jones, wife of CRCC golf architect Robert Trent Jones, who was a large contributor of junior and women's golf in south Florida for many years. The USGA awards points for the Women's Amateur & Senior Championship Divisions. Only the U.S. Women's Amateur Championship, U.S. Amateur & U.S. Open Championships, have been contested longer.
